About the redDog AlertService

Why use the redDog Alert Service?

Situations can change rapidly. Think of tsunamis, SARS, Mexican swine flu and September 11. That is no reason not to travel, but a reason to be well prepared. Thanks to the redDog alert service, you quickly receive information relevant for your safety. Because the sooner you can respond to a situation, the better.

How does redDog know what's happening around the world?

redDog uses international security specialists that operate worldwide, 24 hours a day, and who gather, analyse and categorize information. They work so fast that the redDog Alerts are usually sent prior to global notification through radio or television. If you enter your contact information, your destination and your travel dates, we can ensure that you receive information which is relevant for your safety.

What should I do if I receive an alert from redDog?

Consider a change in your itinerary. If you receive a message about a threatening situation whilst abroad we recommend that you immediately call the embassy and the operations center of your travel insurer. They can also offer advice and help in case of an evacuation.

How often will I receive messages?

Only if your itinerary or safety is at stake should you expect an instant text message. Multiple situations occur on a daily basis in the world, but the amount of messages per country is obviously lower. You can specify up to three destinations at once, but of course, an unlimited number of destinations per year.

And the catch is?

There’s no catch! You only pay the € 4,95 annual subscription and the messages you receive are free. If your subscription expires you will be notified and you can renew in time. Your subscription is not automatically renewed and there are no additional costs other than your mobile provider‘s possible costs of sending you a text message when you are abroad. The service can always be terminated by closing your account or deleting your travel dates. You also won’t receive any messages other than the messages that are relevant to your safety when traveling. Your contact information is not misused for spam or sold to third parties.
